Infrastructure Support
What will you be working on?
- Installation and reinstallation of operating systems and end-user devices.
- Providing technical support to employees in resolving issues with laptops, printers, and telecommunication devices.
- Administration and maintenance of computers and mobile devices.
- Procurement and preparation of new hardware.
- Maintaining and managing the hardware inventory.
- Recommending hardware and software purchases (with potential responsibility for procurement in the future).
- Future involvement in Microsoft Azure administration and access management.
- Monitoring the availability and performance of the IT infrastructure (servers, network, printing, and telecommunication systems).
- Administration, configuration, and maintenance of network infrastructure (switches, routers, and UniFi Wi-Fi).
- Managing and resolving IT incidents and service requests via the ticketing system, including escalating complex issues.
- Performing data backups and regularly testing backup and recovery procedures.
- Managing user accounts and access permissions (Active Directory / Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Microsoft 365, and Intune).
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux (Debian) servers and related services.
- Creating, maintaining, and updating IT documentation, including network topology, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Collaborating with external vendors, including ISPs, hardware service providers, and cloud providers.
- Participating in IT infrastructure development and migration projects (e.g., Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 migrations).
- Supporting IT security by implementing basic security policies, managing patches, and implementing endpoint protection.
What experience and skills should you have?
- Technical knowledge of PC hardware components, including basic PC troubleshooting and repair, as well as home network setup and maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of computer network configuration.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure administration, including user and email account management.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration, including user account management.
- Experience with Microsoft Intune (MDM).
- Experience supporting Apple devices and the Apple ecosystem.
- Experience with Layer 2 (L2) networking.
- Experience with UniFi networking equipment.
- Experience with 3D printers (optional).
- Experience in maintaining and managing hardware inventory.
- Experience with Linux (Debian), preferably at a system administration level (e.g., package installation, network configuration, and system maintenance).
- Basic knowledge of IT infrastructure monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, PRTG, or similar) is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware, or Proxmox) is an advantage.
- Experience with Active Directory and Windows domain administration is an advantage.
